Here we are, with a warm weekend approaching and some 50's for the next week or so!  thumbsup Oh how I am just about ready to get it going! naughty  I've been out under my cover playing around a few times lately.

So, I figure I'd start the topic back again for this year.  Let's toss some ideas around as to where and when we are going have this rendezvous.  The last couple years it's been in Still Pond (& the couple years before that was in Fairlee).   I'm game for there again, but I'm also up for suggestions as well.  Only thing I'd request is somewhere that has some sandy bottom.  I'd even go as far north as the flats up near Havre de grace.  But, I'm not suggesting it, just mentioning it.

I also think it's usually been one of the last weekends in July.  I suggest either July 8-10 or 22-24 (I get every other Friday off, & I'm pretty sure those are the ones I have off calculating I had off last week - not today)  If we went a tad earlier in July, we could go a little further south, like maybe Magothy river.   (& of course meet up later in the year at Still Pond).

I'm also up for any other ideas, like a feast on the beach, or games on the beach?  I think we need to carry on the tradition of the sunset dinghy ride from KCDawn.  Oh, it won't be the same with him moving to NC. cry

But, you all know I'm game for about anything anywhere!  I'm sure we'll also have some more new members as well!!?  (For those newer Chesapeake members, take a look at some older pics, we sure have some fun and great turnouts - even if the weather isn't perfect)

Would love to join the group for our first annual if there is room. weekend of the 22-24th works for us too! We would be bringing our two sons, Patrick 5-Tommy 4 and would love a place with beach access too!

Not too familiar with area but we did cruise to St. michaels last year!

Patrick and krista Armstrong!

We're in for either date!  Still Pond is good as you don't have to worry about jellies there, they've got a great sand bottom, it's clean, and it's not crowded.  Also, hopefully we'll get some of our friends from NJ to join us! thumbsup

 watching

I hear ya Dan!  We do love the Still Pond area as well.

Patrick & Krista, you are definitely welcome to come!  BTW, nice ride!  Seems the larger ones are taking over! pirate There is room for as many that want to come!  Seems each year we'll get one or two from up your way, maybe more will follow. thumbsup  Still Pond is definitely a great place for kids (as well as us adults)!  A nice sandy beach that has a "lazy river" when the tide is changing.  (as I said, also great for adults - sit and float around with drink in hand).  There are usually a couple kayaks in the group and many dinghies as well to explore nature in the back part behind still pond.

It is just south of the Sassafras, so not near as far as south as you've been.  Probably the only issue there is when a storm comes out of the North it can get a little rough.  (yeah, we have a few stories about that place)  But we've also learned a thing or two about getting some good anchor sets!!  (right Aquaholic??!!)

So far it looks like July 22-24.

Are newbies welcome ?  Were in the middle river area. This will be our 2nd boating season, loved last year.  We ventured over to still pond a couple of times last year. Would be nice to meet fellow rinker owners.

Most definitely!!  The more the merrier!!  There is always a lot of fun and it seems like I learn something new or something else I want to do to my boat each year after the event.  It always seems like each boat has their special drink and special food they want to share.  & the more kids the better too because they can hang together without bugging the admirals! clapping

The admiral took the 22nd off at work, so it's official!  & we'll stick to Still Pond...hey it's our favorite as well.  I agree we need to hit 20 this year!  You all can also ponder if you want to do something like the T-shirts we did last year (BTW, I think I still have 2 for Chris from last year, and may have another extra as well I can sell).  Or we can do something like floaty key chains or?

We've stayed in the front.  Lot nicer with the beach close by.  The only issue there is when there is weather from the North.  Just ask Riverside, we've rode out a couple good storms sitting there. pray  I also watched one boat come loose and ram it's anchor down the side of another (luckily it wasn't during our rendezvous).  I have anchored around back as well, but we prefer the front.
