Rinker 290 Fiesta Vee

« on: February 09, 2011, 02:48:36 PM »

Hi, I wanted to know what size props you have on your boat for a 290 FV from 2003-2004. I am most interested in the pitch. I am curious because I have Mercury Marine Mirage Plus SS props with 15 pitch. I was wondering if I should go higher to lower my RPM.

A good rule of thumb is: every inch of pitch equates to 200 rpm.  So if you raise your pitch from a 15 to 17 you will effectivly lower your rpm by 400 rpm.  This is a basic figure only.  Slippage also comes into play.  If you raise the pitch to a 17 you will also hinder your hole shot.  Al
