I have a '99 232 Captiva B/R with a door that keeps poppin open.  The door to the head folds outward toward the back, and no matter how soft ya drive, the latch always comes open.  Even if I leave the door open and snap it back, a few small bumps and it comes unsnapped.

Im thinking of flipping the door around to open outward and forwards, so that it wants to flip closed if the latch doesnt stay.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, so Im just wondering if anyone else has tried to flip the door or has another suggestion to fix it?

Not sure about your year, but my 2005 has a locking latch.  The key is actually the knob to open the door. Kind of a pain in the butt as no one can seem to figure it out, and the kids aren't strong enough to open it, but is does stay closed when underway. Maybe a retrofit with that style?

Also sound like you just need a new snap to keep it from flopping around when it is open and underway.

Mine too was very hard to latch locked. Locked is the only way to keep it closed. I sprayed a little bit of lithium grease in the latch area and used lock lube in the keyway and it helped greatly and lasted through the summer.

my 00' has the same problem.  It's never stayed closed but the snap does hold it secure while underway.  We only use the 'head' for stowage of gear and occasionally to change so not a big issue for us

my 2002 232 br has the same problem.
it seems i am the only one that can figure out the lock, but when i lock it, it stays shut.
You'll hear me yelling expressives whenever we take off and just as we plane the door comes flying open and slams against the fiberglass.   bat  i always give my Wife the stink eye when it happens.

Hey thanks for the tip Texas232, i didnt think about changing that snap to hold it better when it's open1   clapping
