I beleive it is,  but  I always flush the system with Marine antifreeze and never leave it tight or full.  I use the antifreeze to remove any trace amounts of water, not as a substatute for the water.  Hence if there is nothing to expand no chance of freezing.  This is in the engines and water/waste systems.  Good luck  Al

Al, do you drain the manifolds in closed cooled engines, even after flushing with antifreeze?

DIDO .... I have the air actuared system. I plan on draining the system and fill with antifreeze, leaving the drains open.

I use -50 and I'm more north than you guys. Never had a problem. Just leave every sea cock, drain plug and tap open. Don't forget the shower sump and swim platform shower. You will be good to go.

On most current closed cooled systems from Mercruiser,  the lower manifold is cooled by coolant/antifreeze.  The manifold does not need drained.  On some older models this is not the case, on these the manifold will need to be drained.  Al
