Has anyone else had issues with leaking drive oil on Volvo XDP drives? I replaced a shift shaft seal last year on one side and had the same issue on the other side this year, unfortuneately I'm still loosing oil on the side that was just replaced, and it needs to go back in the shop. The drives are on 5.0 OSI motors, the boat is a 2007 320EC and has the new V3 belows (if that means anything)

I know one of the local guys here on Long Island has some issues with drive oil leaks - thought it *might* have been galvanic corrosion but there was nothing conclusive. He has the Volvo 5.7L OSi with XDP just like me I think.

I don't think I'm leaking drive oil - but I'm sure burning it up well sometimes.  dont know

I've got my drives at All-American Drive Service  http://www.allamericandriveservice.com/

They are down by Coldwater, so not too far from you.  I was quite impressed with the guys doing the work and they do some custom/ultra high HP stuff.  I'd give them a call, talk to George.

I was also losing oil. It turned out that the factory had not used a clamp on the resovoir only a cable tie. I just had to snug it up and I no longer am losing any oil or finding it in my bilge.
