Well we spent the night at Stillpond on Saturday, hoping that the weather would hold out and we would get some sunny weather on Sunday.  It didn't happen!  We decided to come home after listening to the kids fight in the cabin this morning.  It looked calm across the bay but it changed quickly!  By the time I got towards the middle the weather turned bad fast and we had rain and 4-5 foot waves.  This was my first time in a storm with our first boat.  I held her at about 24mph, not sure if that was the right speed but I wanted to keep her going towards home.  The wind and waves blew my front canvas glass off the snaps and it was not long til I had buckets of water crashing into my face.  I was so gald when I made it back to the Bush River.  There were so many boats out there in the Bay trying to get home all at the same time.  I had that to deal with along with a huge cargo ship that I had to go behind and around of and lets not forget the fun run through the crab pots.  Well that is all for now.   No harm done just got very wet and a little raddled.  Now I can say I got my boat through a storm out in the Bay.

Well done!!  I've been through several on the Chesapeake.  Some with heavy rains and no wind, others with higher winds and very little rain.  The ones with both are usually the worst because it hampers you sight so much while you are trying to fight waves, etc.  Glad you made it through with no real problems.  It is always glad to be back at home port ofter one of those experiences.
