12 volt small appliances

I don't have any 12 volt appliances on board because I rely on my inverter. The coffee maker draws over 1000 watts. I was wondering about what experiences anyone else has had with 12 volts appliances. Overton has great deals on a coffee maker and blender and I was giving it some consideration. Thanks.

We have a 12V blender on our 270 and it's great - simple to operate and doesn't seem to whack the batteries too badly.
I tried a 12V water heater for coffee and it just took too long - like 20 minutes to get it hot enough. The crew is never happy with a cranky morning captain waiting that long for his java...

I boil water on a butane burner then use a Melita manual drip. 5 minutes tops!

Thanks for the input. I think I will stick with my 110 volt coffee maker and keep using the inverter.

12v appliances either have big amperage draw or are vastly underpowered (coffee maker as good example). the 120VAC coffee maker is probably your better choice.
