I have a 2005 282 captiva, with a 496 ho mag, it will do about 58 mph, but i would like more top end,any ideas

That's a pretty good size boat with that engine so your speed doesn't sound too bad.  How much are you willing to spend??  www.fullthrottlemarine.com  Bob Lloyd can certainly make you go faster!!
