350 MPI wont turn over
«

Was all geared up and ready for a great weekend out on the water, went to start the engine(2002 250FV-350MPI) and she was cranking fine but just wouldnt fire. After I stopped turning the key she would wait about five seconds and just cough. I pulled the fuel water seperator off and replaced it just to be safe but the gas looked fine. I can hear the whine of the fuel pump when I turn the key do you think even though I hear the pump it could be bad or clogged?
Played with the kill switch a bit(moved it down and back up a few times) no change.
Other than a bad or clogged fuel pump what is everyones guess?
I have a tow arranged for tommorow and will keep all posted. Thanks.

i can believe that. i had problems through the throttle range last year, so i was told to try a new rotor and cap. apparently the original rotor on that motor has an aluminum pick up on it, and the replacement from mercruiser has been changed to brass. so maybe that aluminum piece of crap needs to come out.

alley,
You got it. Cap and Rotor replacement fixed the problem, replaced the plugs also just for good measure. Thanks for the help!
