I was always told never to leave the ac on when you are going to be away for a day.  Hose could break and flood the boat.  Just what I was told.

Not me, when I leave my boat I only shut off the A/C, hot water heater, range, fresh water pump, stereo (to shut off the display) and oh course the shore water supply. Everything else stays on....

I only use the AC when I am at the boat and I have cleaned my strainer 3 times this summer.  If I left it on all the time it would be clogged by Thursday and overheat.  The humidity setting is nice and I use that.........when I remember that is.  bang head    I just don't like any water running when I am not there.  Besides the water pump is a few hundy to replace so the spiders can just enjoy the heat....

Almost Happy new years!  Happy, because it is closer to boating season.

Okay...so I have read about the humidify settings and this P14 fan off with compressor feature.  Do all of the Rinker systems have these features?  I read the (quite generic) owners manual, but did not find anything mentioned about these features.  Could someone elaborate about the different settings it has?  Thank you.

Yes, all the controllers have these features. The Humidity setting is set by holding the power and fan buttons at the same time. The P14 setting needs to be done through the setup menu. I found all the info for this on the Internet.

Now that I know it does more than on and off, I will search for the instructions.  i do also remember that in my pack of owner's manuals, there was an air conditioning book...thought it was just an installation manual.  I will have to look at it when I get the boat back in may.  Thanks for the reply.

Does your generator power the A/C when on the hook?  Mine only works on shore power (no gen).

I have no generator, but the generator would power the a/c.  there are only 3 or 4 days per summer on average that I find it so oppressive to need a/c while on the hook.  We have a great breeze during almost every day, and it is illegal to anchor during the night on our lake, so no sleeping on the hook anyways.

Thanks for the link.  I found one manual from the manufacturer, but this one is better laid out and for some reason, the other one could not be printed correctly.  This is quite helpful. Thanks again.

I have not been able to get my A/C to work with the generator. No problem while plugged in at the dock. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Yup!!! You have to change the switch on the electrical panel over to generator as compared to shore power. It looks like it's "locked" but it isn't. smiley
