hi guys,
i need to change the port side trim tab (type lenco) bottle.
i considere that the only thing i have to do is to remove the pins of the previous trim tab bottle and replace the new one and thereafter connect the wires located inside the engine compartement.
silicone to be applied in the hole of the new wire and....... that is all???
should i pay extra attention to any tips or other way for the replacement ?
any reply / guidance would be most helpfull.

I have just completed the same job last week. I purchased a new Lenco (motor) unit on ebay for a great price. All you have to do is pull out those plastic pins. I used a punch and a hammer, just be careful not to mushroom the end. Maybe alittle silicone or WD-40 would be helpful. Next pull the bracket from the back of your boat. Be careful not to strip out the heads of the screws. Once you have that complete go into your engine compartment and find the old wires to the unit you are removing. I traced my about 7 feet or so and then spliced the new wires in. Make sure you use good silicone and put it in the wire hole as well as behind the mounting bracket prior to installation. Mine worked out just fine with no problems.
FYI....be careful because the new unit may run faster then your old one on the other side of the boat. When moving and you begin to pull up your tabs make sure you pay attention that they both go up at the same time. If not you will find yourself on a major tilt to one side or the other.
