Hey guys. I have a 1994 Captiva 180 with a 3.0 merc. I just had the engine out to replace the freeze plug that popped out of the back of the block. :( It now runs great and actually holds water, but i was wondering if anyone knew if these same boats with the 4.3 v6 had both mounting points?

Where my front engine mount is, there are lag bolts holding it into the floor of the boat. I imagine the 4.3 uses a mount per side as it does in a car or truck. I need to find out if the floor is built with that engine option in mind, so if i were to put one in, id have the support to drill and tap or lag bolt the new mounts to the floor. Does anyone have some decent pictures or where a 4.3 mounts in one of these or pics of the engine compartment with the engine pulled? Thanks in advance!

The mounts were different for the 3.0 vs the 4.3  The blocks were not installed for the side mounts if the hull was for a 3.0.  The 3.0 also had a front mount which the 4.3 did not use.  Now, you could make your own aluminum mounts for the 4.3 mounts.  You will have the cut out the 3.0 front mount and reglass the stringers.  I hope this was not to confusing.  Al
