I am going to look at buying 212 Festiva w/ the 5.7 Mercruser, it a cuddy. My main question is what is the diffrrence between the Festiva and the Captiva? The list both models for 1997 and both as a cuddy. First I thought one was a bowrider anf the other a cuddy, but that dosent seem to be the case. Please enlighten a newbie steping up from a 18ft Caravelle.

Thanks pray

I agree that the Festiva was the cuddy and the Captiva was the open bow. I have 2 friends that had 212 Festiva's and both of them were cuddy's. One was a 1996 and the other was a 1998. I am working midnights this week, so I can't get to the marina/dealer to get a brochure for that model year. I know that they have a few leftover brochures for those model years.

In any case, that size boat with that engine will do around 50mph.

A local rinker dealer said one is deeper hull, does that sound right? He didn't know for sure....I did check it out...It needed ALOT of elbow grease and a bunch of nickle and dime stuff that kind of turned me off on it...So I found a 97 212 Captiva I am going to check out.
