Yep! seems like there is allot of those type of leaks. Rinker needs to step up their QC on screws. We found several screws striped or missing and not sealed on ours causing leaks. We attributed it to a Friday 5 o-clock special.

Our fv250 came with the water leak feature also.  In our case the hot and cold water lines in the head were cross-threaded and leaking.  Of course we didn’t know what was going on and by the time we figured it out we had successfully soaked the carpet and mattress in the mid-berth.  That developed into an odor and that is a story in itself.  Because the water pump was telling us there was a problem (on and off all the time) this should of never got by dealer prep let alone Rinker letting it out the door.  The cross threading was visual obvious.  I’ll keep an eye out for other kinds of leaks.

Niles :)

I guess I am getting a bit concerned it seems like everyone has had some type of water leak on their new Rinkers.  I have seen mine,  but it has never been in the water and I am really concerned about water leaking in the cabin.  My dealer is going to put it into the water 1 week before I take delivery and make sure everything is OK.  At least that's what he said and he has been truthful so far.

I had a 258 Four Winns  Cruiser and had that type of problem for two years  and it went back to the factory twice before they fixed it.  I sold it after I was sure it was fixed and bought a 270.

Yep the third year I had it the aft cabin carpeting on the port side was soaked.  I found the A/C overboard water dischage was broken.  It must have happened  when they put the top of the boat to the bottom.  The pressure form the holding tank hose was pushing down on the fitting and cracked it.  What a mess.  It was easy to repair once I got past the fear of taking pannels off of the aft cabin on the starbord side.  I thought the fittings were stainless.  They are plastic with a cover that makes them look like stainless.  It took a month of warm weather to finally get it to dry completely.

Anyway that was the only problem i had with it.  Now the Four Winns that was a total problem for three years.  Constant fro water leakage, bad gages, pumps not woprking and it wasn't just my boat it was every 258 my Dealer sold.

I have my fingers crossed that my Dealer is going to get rid of the buggs before I get the boat.  He has until the 3 weekend in April so that is plenty of time.  I just hope the Ice is off of Lake Erie by then

I had a similar problem when we took delivery - the overboard discharge fittign was loose at the hull. 10 second fix with a screwdriver. We had a leak after that, but I can't blame the factory or dealer for it... We had a mud dober build a nest in the condesation drain for the AC. Again, a 10 second fix with a screw driver :)

other than that, the boat is extraordinarily dry and I haven't had a problem since.

Tell us more! What model? Is it coming from the step drain? Many of us have had leaks and there are fixes to them.

Cruisinsusan....Did you purchase your Rinker from Boat and RV warehouse by any chance?  If you did, I might be able to help you with some big shots names..
