Captiva 192 Prop Question
«

We have a 1997 Captiva 192 190 hp that is running at top speed about 40mph and 4k rpms when trimmed out. We currently have a three blade 19 pitch prop. The problem is, it is a major drag to get up slalom skiiers, literally! Even with only two people in the boat it's very tough to get out of the water. We bought the boat specifically for water sports and we're considering selling at this point unless we can figure out another prop solution that may help getting out of the hole. It's in perfect condition, has a new engine and we just put a lot of money in the trailer so we'd prefer not to sell. Any suggestions?

I'm sure there's no need to sell! You need a "high five" stainless prop. It should give you the pull out you need at the slight expense of top speed.

Here's my setup on our '05 192 for watersports....
1. Nauticus SmartTabs SX9510-60 (I think) to kick the stern out of the water quicker (and reducing the wake significantly).
2. Precision Propellers 14.25" x 20" 4-blade cupped stainless prop.
The result is 48~49 mph @4800 rpm WOT (a little over spec but I don't run WOT anyway) with the ability to pull up slalom skiers without any problems (and with people in the boat and a full tank of fuel).
