PM sent frodo. Guys remember PayPal does charge a transaction fee so we will have to cough this up so frodo isn't coming out of pocket for us on this. I believe it's only like 6% but we will make sure the exact amount.

I have been considering one since the drive blew on my last boat back in 1999..  On that boat I purchased  a 4 foot section of stainless strand wrapped hand held shower head hose and the smallest spray head that would fit it,,,  on pick up end just a peace of tubing pointed forward..  I mounted it with strap clamps to transom and aimed it at top of gear case....

I have know idea if it worked or even did anything....  But at the time I wanted to try something...  I remember it costing under $20...   It looked as awful as it sounds but it was under water line and out of sight...

For the Rinker I will be installing a proper Drive Shower...

Good Luck with making them and please post or let me know when they will be available,, cost and some pictures please...

I don't recall anyone answering if this would be of benefit for the Volvo drives - I'm assuming Merc only but if someone (Allan) could answer up, that would be awesome.

Just need to budget for the spring commissioning and since I just got back from the Bahamas and wrote my first check for the boat slip/spring drop now, I'm in a stellar mood. (The 12-pack doesn't hurt...)

Looks like it is only for Mercs, but you can call and doulble check .585-334-0531

I'd go for one if the door is still open.

I have not seen any for the Volvo drives.  If someone was to make one, I am sure it would benefit somewhat.  The flow of oil from top to bottom on a Volvo drive is differant than a Merc.  Thus allowing for cooler oil.  Al

Ok - Here's the update on the driveshowers:
By my count, we are up to 12 of these. I called Simrek and told them what we were doing and they were pretty happy to get our business. Since we are up to 12, they will take an additional $10.00 off the cost of each unit and they will ship (for free) DIRECTLY to each person that orders. So, we are now at $129.95 per unit.
They prefer to have a single bill so I am still planning on using my credit card and using Pay Pal for each member to pay me back.

He also said that if we get 15 on the order, they will knock off even more for each unit so if anyone is sitting on the fence about buying one or more, we'll all save even more !!

They do ship USPS and UPS so for those that live outside of the USA, your shipping will not cost anything (except maybe Rune who is in Malta).

So, what I'm thinking now is that each person should send me their shipping address, pay pal account e-mail (so I can send them an invoice) and I will place the order. Once a member has paid me via pay pal, the the unit(s) will ship. How's that sound?

Let me know if you have any more suggestions!

Thanks for answering that, Allan! No worries as I have plenty else to spend money on.

Hi Frodo 13056.

I think we should wait a couple more days. I am sure we will get to 15... What do you think?

By the way, did you count me in for 2?

thanks

I agree with Max. I am covered in snow today and will not be able to even install the unit for at least another 4-6 weeks most likely even more so I have time to kill. However, I know some may be more fortunate and live in nice climate and have a need for it now. Maybe we should put a master list together and put a cut off date so everyone has a chance to get it on the game.

Just sentyou a PM.

I can wait too.  Not like I can do anything with it now.  I'm sure we will get 15 if we hold off a little longer.
