Another place to try is the NBOA. Internet quote worked for me.

Same for me. Around $700 a year but wonderful service since I needed both outdrives replaced fall 2008 after only having the boat and insurance for less than 2 months. They paid $15,000 for the drives, winterization and storage since it was so late in the year and the parts had to be ordered; no hesitation. I don't know if this is typical since this is my first claim but they were great. No significant increase in renewal costs either.

I really think it is a crap shoot sometimes. Our insurance is thru Boatus and has been for 10 years now. When we bought this boat 3 years ago, I checked around again. And for us, nothing could beat the $600/yr we pay. One thing is to make sure you are comparing the exact same coverage, especially for fuel/spill liability (which some don't even have). Included with ours is unlimited towing service.

It is. Zurich would cover haulout costs for hurricanes (not that we get many on the Hudson), but the Traveller's policy gives you a percentage. Same with repairs -- yoru sterndrives (something I didn't know) are only covered for a particular set of time, then they "depreciate".
The thing I got burned on is the definition of "electronics". The boat in the slip next to me got hit by lightening, and apparently a surge crossed from his boat to ours through the dock lines. Burned out a portion of our ECMs on each engine (actually took out the sensor that checks all the other sensors to make sure life is good). Well, I'm thinking that's "electronics". turns out that it's considered part of the base hull coverage ("well, if the ECMs are bad, the engines won't start, so you need to use the hull deductible"). So instead of a $250 deductible, it was a $4500 deductible -- didn't cover the repairs!

I hit rocks which caused the damage so the insurance covered it

My sister in-law is a State Farm agent and she tells me all of their boat policies are written through Progressive.
I would be willing to bet that is what your agent has done but it might pay to see what Progressive has to offer directly. it may end up being cheaper, I know it was in my case.
your sister in law is wrong! State Farm policies are State Farm policies.

X2......I am a State Farm Agent - State Farm Agents can legally only write State Farm policies, with the exception of health insurance (which can only be written through Assurant).

Whoa. Looks like I am paying over $900 a year for mine through State Farm even with multiple user discount. I think we are gonna have a little talk on Monday. Thanks for the insight guys.
UPDATE
Got mine down below $680 from $899 after meeting with my State Farm Agent. Seems it makes a large difference to list the I/O's.
