Not familiar with the 266 but you'll be coming from the dash, can you drop them into the cabin then run them up in the storage areas along the starboard side below? As for getting from the batteries to the dash that shouldn't be too tough, up under the gunwale, along with other wiring that's usually up in there. At least that's seems to where it it all is on my 232 and 270.

Best suggestion I can offer is pull the storage bin in cuddy and the wires going to and from bow to dash though there... Remove seat cushion backs and cockpit storage bins for access to inner gunwales to run the wires from dash to batt..
Good luck,, seems like a good project... I have thought of doing it myself on our 232,,, my wife would like to have one also cause she is the one who pulls the anchor...

Dont be afraid to use your engine dip stick to run some wires behind areas to pull or fish them through, it is easier than pulling your boat apart. Wipe the oil off the stick and tape a string or wire to it and fish away.

I use alot of old shift cables. The mercruiser inner core cable for is about 4' long works great. If I need longer I use a inner core of either a shift or throttle control cable. Al
