I have been getting allot of requests for the free PC navigation software! Not only is this software totally free but it offers the latest charts from NOAA, the same ones released to garmin, raymarine and etc to convert into their GPS that you have to pay for. There are two differences first you have to pay for theirs and you have to wait for them to convert them! So why is this not known by everyone! Well if everyone knew about this how would the manufactures make any money???
I am sure you will enjoy this software. The nice thing about it is that you get the real charts as soon as NOAA releases them. Why is this important well let's take Garmin for example they get the release the same time you do! Then they have to put the chart in there format and get it up on their site or program new memory chips then ship them out for you to BUY! Your download is free and instant. There is even a update function that you can use to update all charts that you use automagicily. GREAT feature!!!!!
So Here is the sites and instructions!
You must install all the software in your c:/programsfiles/seaclear folder What I recommend is down load the install image to My Downlaods/seaclear folder then run the install - then you need to go to the NOAA site and down load the charts - to My downloads/seaclear/charts folder - then you need to run mapcal to group and identify the charts and route them to C:/programfiles/seaclear/charts folder - this is about the only thing that is not documented well -
With the download come the instuction of how to setup the computer file structure, how to load the calculate charts (most have imbedded code for this); how to use the software; how to connect it to the NEMA 183 bus so it is a chart plotter.
