Hi Again,

Been away from the boating boards for a while and just checked back to find a whole new board!!

Just finished doing this years "project on our 86 Rinker V190.

Removed the interior and cut open the floor to get at the fuel tank. After 23 years i wanted to inspect it. Didn't want to find a bilge full of gas one day.  Tank was in very good shape just had a few rubbed spots.  While I had the tank out I fixed those and reinstalled the tank and relocated the vent from the bow to the transom. Replaced all the fuel lines, fuel filler, fuel pump and carb.  Also did maintenance on the outdrive. We also pulled the rub rail and frame and resealed the deck to hull joint. All the joys of an older boat.  Everything done a couple of weeks ago. She runs great and now do not have any fuel smell when we uncover the boat. When I opened up the fuel pump I was surprised at the amount of corrosion on all the metal parts. the rubber diaphram was still good but the calves Etc were shot. The reason for relocating the vent was we were getting water into the fuel tank in heavy seas.

Glad that project is done!!!

We took or Rinker to the thousand islands (St Laurence River) for a week. Had a ball and the refurbed boat ran great.  We try to get there for a week every year.  Some of the best boating and fishing around.  Try and visit the antique boat museum in Clayton NY some time.
