Been boating a bunch this summer, so not nearly as much posting as I used to. Not to mention I've changed jobs, and got out from behind my desk. That's leaving me a ton less time on the internet. Of all the things I miss, the internet isn't as big of a loss as I thought........ANYWAY.....

I've been doing a good deal of watersports this year. I would love to get a set of smart tabs, but am having a hard time getting confirmation that they will fit properly on the rear of my boat. SO, I'm looking into getting a Mercury High 5 prop. I've been told that I should stick with the same 19 pitch that I have now, and I've also been told that a 17 pitch would do wonders for me as well. I've of course also been handed 101 other opinions from just about everyone I talk to about it.

About the only consistent response I get is that I should find a "prop shop" that will work with me to find the right prop for me. Everywhere I've called hasn't been real enthused with the idea of me leaving a deposit, and trying 2 or 3 props, with the deposit going towards the purchase. I don't mind leaving them a $1k check if thats what they need for a deposit. I'm 99% confident I'll be changing to a better performing prop for my particular application, so I can almost garuntee the sale of a new prop. I've called a couple local boat dealers, and gotten nowhere fast.

I'm hoping someone here can steer me in the right direction. Anyone know of a good "Prop Shop" in the Louisville, KY Metro Area? Thanks in advance.

Right, I knew that. I don't have anything wrong with the prop I have though. I'm wanting to try some new props, to see if I can find one I like better thn the one that is currently on there. I;d rather not take a $500+ risk on a new prop if it's not any better than the one I have. I only ask, because I have heard of others being able to "try before they buy".
