I am seriously considering purchasing a 1990 280 fiesta vee, but the boat does not come with any canvas at all. Does anyone have any idea about what it would cost for a canvas cover for that model. I would also like to get a bimini top for it. I am new to boating and really could use lots of advice. Thanks.

The best way to get a quote you can believe in is from some of your local canvas shops.  It's highly unlikely you'll find OEM canvas for a 19 year old boat.  Even if you did, the stuff a canvas shop will supply is likely far higher quality than the OEM stuff.

Good luck!  thumbsup

I just replaced all canvas with a full camper top enclosure and a cockpit cover on a 1999 330 fiesta vee.  Pretty much anything canvas was replaces and I paid $4200, but as stated the best way to be accurate is to call a local canvas shop.  You will be a few thousand though.  Hope this helps.

Agree. A local custom boat cover shop is the way to go. It's pricey but you will enjoy your boating more. I recently called a Rinker dealer about a new bimini and camper canvas for my 2005 320, and they don't produce them anymore, so the custom canvas route is about your only option.

I'm assuming you're talking about a cockpit cover only (since you mentioned a bimini seperately).  The bimini/Eisenglass enclosure is what REALLY jacks the price up.  You can probably get a cockpit cover made for ~$800 from a local canvas shop.

Do you have the bows (metal tubing that supports the bimini)?  If you don't, you'll also need to have them fabricated. Stainless steel is better than aluminum, but more expensive.  Check several canvas shops and look at their work.  Make sure they use UV resistant polyester thread or Tenara thread.  This will be a few thousand dollars to get done right, but will make your boating much more enjoyable and protect your boat from the weather.  If you can wait till the late fall or winter, you may be able to get it done cheaper as the canvas shops are slow in the off season.
