well, I'm planning on bringing a group of co-workers and take a half day and enjoy the show from the Severn river. I know Dan & Darci said they'd meet up....anyone else that wants to go, we can pick a place to meet before or have channel we can monitor. I've been there a few times and always a fantastic show!

Thinking about taking the day off and heading down and taking the kids out of school early to watch it, if the weather is decent. I've never been South of the Baltimore area, but its not that far (under 30 miles?). I'm close to the Key Bridge. Any tips on making it down and where you guys will be located. I'm decent with the GPS. The show starts at 2PM, correct? I have enjoyed the Air Force Thunderbirds numerous times, but have never watched the Blue Angels here.
This is on Wed, May 20th, correct. I saw another posting that mentioned the third Tuesday in May.

Yes, it is May 20th. I did the posting of third Tuesday, but that is when they practice (on the 19th). It is an easy drive down from your area. I usually stay to the west side of the channel all the way down and you can cut just on the outside of Sandy Pt lighthouse and halfway between the center span of the bridge and shore. I usually just anchor about as far west as I am allowed and as far up the Severn River as allowed.
It really is a great show to watch from the boat. I will say, try to get there by noon, that way you can get a good set on your anchor. I see many people dropping in a half hour before it starts and stomping on others and loosing their ground.

It looks like we'll be there if the weather is good. I have a meeting at work in the morning, so I'm not sure if I'll be there by noon or not. It looks like we have the smallest boat so far, so maybe we can raft up with somebody that gets there earlier. We might not get there till 12:30-1:30 pm.

Cwhyte, you can definitely hook up with us. That is, as long as you don't mind a bunch of 20/30 year old professionals having a good time next to you. Nothing too bad, but it'll be a little release from work.
I believe Dan&Darci are still making it too. I'll send you a PM with my cell number. In the big mess of boats that may be there it could be the best way to get a hold us.

Dream, thanks for the invite. I'm really hoping to make it if the weather is OK I'll look for your PM. Either way, I'll call you that day to let you know if I'm heading out or not. The 20/30 year olds won't be a problem. I work with plenty of them and even though my wife and I are 30s/40s, we try not to act our age too often. Chris

Yeah, I'm approaching that 40 next summer. I hear you about not acting like a 20 year old...let alone my kidneys would not be able to handle it!

Just to ditto some of the other postings, the show is just fantastic and being on the water just makes it that much better. The earlier you can get there, the better the selection of anchorage ( and avoiding some of the late arrivals). We usually slip around Greenbury Point and try to find some room away from others. By the way, if you try to get very close to the middle of the Severn Channel, you'll miss some great photo ops. The jets look great right overhead, but the pictures are much better from the side. Don't worry, you'll still see the jets directly above you at some time.
See you on Wednesday!

The weather looks like it's going to be fantastic!!! I am ready. Maybe I will look into going over towards Greenbury point. Might be better depending on the time I get there. I'll just have to cross the traffic though to head south afterwards...not that I'll be in any hurry anyhow.

I think it'd be easier for us to just meet at the marina and leave together. I'm hoping to be at the marina around 11-11:30 and leave out by noon.

Works for me.
We're going to spend the night on the boat Tuesday & will meet up with you Wednesday AM. We're going to have Danielle & one of her friends from college (female) aboard. Your friends from work ought to have a great time!

Hi All,
I am brand spanking new to this awesome board. I am planning on attending the show wednesday. I would love to hook up with some fellow Rinker owners. I keep my 2003 - 270 FV on Bodkin Creek and plan on heading to Naptown in the morning. It is likely just me and my lovely girlfriend so some more company and new friends would be very cool!
Where will the Rinker Raft be? I should be by Greenbury point by 11:30 (ISH) Always an "ish" when boating.
Thanks in advance.
