Hello again fellow rinker owners,
i have a couple of questions that i would love some help answering. I have a 1999 232 captiva and have yet to put it in the water but am hoping to do so this weekend, but dont think my bilge is working as i cant hear anything when i press the button on the dash. Not sure what to do, or even of i would hear it anyway?.  I was also wondering if anyone knew how to remove the 2 pads on the back bench besides the one over the storage, my upholstry guy an i cannot figure out how or if they come off.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome - I'm new to the site as well and have received great tips/advice and helpful information in the 2 weeks I've been active.

I had a 182BR before I bought my 242.  My upholstery was snapped, then slid up - it had metal slides that held it in place.  Not sure you're is the same.  If you're upholstery guy can't figure it out, I'm likely no help as well.

Not sure about the bilge pump.  I don't remember if I can hear mine or not.  But check your panel - does the switch light up when turned on?  If not, do the others?  Could be a breaker or fuse.  If so, then go to the pump and see if it's receiving power.  I have found most of my fixes are simple, someone just had to tell me where to look!

And if that doesn't work, and you're near Ohio, you can always go visit PartsMan - his boat apparently needs a good waxing!  Seriously though, hang around a few - there are people here much more knowledgable than I that will likely answer your questions accurately.  I'm basically just wasting space.... but I've learned something every day!

I had a 1999 272 - and the upholstery came off just like Titans suggested - there were snaps at the bottom of each side panel - just pop the snaps and they slide up and off. It's a bit of a trick getting them back on but with a little practice it gets easier.
For the rear bench seat and the rear bench seat backrest upholstery, it was fastened by through bolts with a nut  / washer on the inside of the hatch.
For the rear bench seat, I had to feel around the sound proofing to find the two 3/8 inch nuts / washers to remove and for the rear bench backrest, same thing - it had 2 nut / washers that attached it to the rear hatch fiberglass.

Good luck!

PartsMan - I'm heading to Ohio for a pit stop on my way to Buffalo in the next few months...  I may take you up on those beers if you happen to be on our way.  Something about a water park in Sandusky???  Then visiting family in  Buffalo.  Need to find me a volunteer to tour me around Erie while I'm there!!!
