i have a 270 fiesta vee. i need to replace the trim tab on the straboard side. My question is after a remove the
screws holding the tab to the boat is there any adhesive i have to worry about.. i don't want to do any damage
to the fiberglass?????? thanks

Yes at least there should be. The screw holes should have been predrilled then filled with a sealant prior to putting the screws in. Be sure to use marine grade, below the waterline sealant on the holes before you put the new tab in place. I have used 3M 5200 but its a slow cure product, 7 days. I trailer my boat. If your boat needs to be in the water soon after repairs you might want a faster curing sealant.

also try to use the same size screws when re-installing. If you use bigger screws per drill, so not to crack the jel coat.

Eddie,
Are you replacing the complete tab actuator or just an actuator or just the tab plate? Is the tab damaged or.....? Just curious as I've never seen anyone having to replace a complete tab.

the tab where it is spot welded came apart. i have to replace the actuator also. dont know how it happened.
