I am new to this forum and posted my question on the cruisers general forum. Just realized that this tech talk forum is probably a more appropriate place.

I have a 2005 342 and plan on moving it from one lake to another. I have been told that I will need to lower my radar arch. Has anyone done this? Is there anything tricky about doing this? Any advice on how to trailer this boat would also be appreciated.
The boat will be moved on a universal trailer. The route that will used is the shortest distance. Local permits in NC specify a certain allowable height. I will definitely have to lower the radar arch.

This is a removal only project as there are no hinges on a 342 and will take at least 2 people to accomplish.
Crawl down into the storage under the L seating area (with your head to the rear) you'll find the bolts that bolt down the port side of the arch.
You"ll probably have to take out the ice maker to get to them on starboard side.Y
Keep in mind there will be wires that need to be delt with. The caulking seam between the hull and the arch will need to be cut with a razor knife.

Good Luck

I think I would ask some questions to however is hauling you Rinker. I do not know about N.C. but I have pulled my 342 through KY, IL,MO which is where I live, and my 342 (2002) is under 13' 6" on the trailer and thats what semi's are runnung down the road (13'6"). I pull mine a couple times a year with just a state permit which costs $15.00. Anyway I have never had to pull arch. Good Luck in your move!!

I have a 2003 342 and it was trucked from detroit to Western Mich when I bought it, just truck it on a low-boy boat hauler (not a 'normal' boat trailer) and it will clear bridges.  The boat hauler should be able to easily tell you if there are issues, at worst removing radar if you have it.
