Wow . I have 6ft of snow on my front yard ..every time i look at it i re-affirm why i love my boat ..we boat on the eastern end of Lake Ontario..Our 27ft FIESTA 'V' is at home in and on these waters.. This area is Boaters heaven ..from my dock in BRIGHTON we access Lake Ont where we Salmon fish from the 27 . we acess the Tent System , that you can spend a month just cruising and enjoying , we also acess the Rideau System where we can travel up to Ottawa , thats where our Govment keeps ( ha ha ) all our hard earned tax money ..or gives it Banks ,,,,,lol ...
But our hands down favourite is the Thousand Islands , some boaters spend the whole summer cruising and docking , anchoring in these islands ...this year i am hopping for 4 weeks there , thats if my Comodore will approve ...Last year our Fuel purchases helped the Petro Chemical Executives go an extra holiday ( do they work ) ???Our boating twin crossed the lake to Syracuse N.Y. and traveled slowly east to Alex Bay , then spent time in the islands .. I think this is a trip i will plan for this year ...He is determined to spend time in North Pond N.Y. The charts are not in to much detail , re. depths . markers . marinas . if any reader has some info good or bad for this area we would appreciate muchly ..
Ok i have to go and shovel some snow , If you boat in eastern lake ont , take time to write in this Forum , any groups going east , or south , or wanting to travel in twos to the 1000 islands ..we are in our 50s , act like 30s , wish we were 20s lol..The heck with the snow, hey maybe the Comodore will shovel it ..... ha ha ha .... no .. come on summer ....... (<: ...

I hear your grief with winter...I boat out of Clayton, NY in the Thousand Islands...It's a great little village with some places to stay. We also love the Rideau system!!! When summer comes closer we can chat about some places to go in the T.I.!!!

I am Familiar with Clayton N.Y. We purchaced our boat privately from the internet It was in Cisero ,Congels actually .. so it was hauled to Clayton ( april) and we stayed the night in it , we woke to ice outside everywhere , it was sureal ,,we then boated it to Gananoque Ont ..Paid the Government robber barons their tax and we hauled it on my trailer to my marina near Trenton ..So it had N.Y. registration . now Canadian ..We had a great Breakfast just up from the town dock in town . I guess it has a Reputation as great eatery ...we usually hit Clayton every year for a quick stop ..then on to Alex Bay ..I think im getting the winter blues and Summer thoughts ...The Doctor thinks its incurable .. lol

Haha, We keep our boat right next to the ramp in Clayton! It's a real nice town to keep our boat in...we really like it. Actually we bought our boat from Congel as well. I wasn't too impressed with them, but the price was definatly right...so not a big deal. I too have some serious winter-itis...I go up to do work on the boat just to think about the summer (bringing plenty of coffee for warmth). Looks like we may get a bit of a thaw this weekend so I may go up North to install my new Smartcraft gauges...

I agree I too am done with Winter. I was born and raised in Belleville. Last summer most of our 17 hrs we put on our 2009 Rinker 192 BR was on the Bay of Quinte (since we purchased from Bay Marine). Now that we traded it in for an 08 260 EC and living in London I am hoping we still make it down that way. Other-wise I am boating on the shores of lake Huron out of Port Franks with nothing but a few rocks at Kettle Point to view.
Question for you...I was going to plan a weekend trip and was wondering if rounding Prince Edward County was any fun or blaw??

If you come down to Belleville you will be surprized .. Bay Marine burned to the ground this winter.. its just a flat lot now . he has plans to re-build , he is the only Rinker dealer in the whole area so unfortunatly we need him ...lol...
If u launch in Belleville or Trenton , it is a nice trip to go down to Picton for the day , the town is like 5 min walk ..and return same day ...nice scenery , and an good bay for a stop is Massauga bay , sandy cove , you go onshore and there is bbq,s and a park there ..
us a chart or gps as there is a lot places you could wind makin a donation to your local repair shop ..take a fishin rod , large pickeral ,( walleye ) for our neighbours , are caught all around that area ..Last year my co-pilot and i won the Derby with a 12lb , so they are there ...in the fall 15lb are caught there ..
Be water legal tho . the local marine opp , is all over that area big time ..i was stopped by the same cop ( lady ) 5 times . i suggested she issue stickers , cus if im legal on monday i gotta be legal on tues .. lol
come on summer ...
