Any one find there engine choking out in rough water or a tight turn. We did on the 290 particularily the port engine. After close inspection we found that the cockpit overflow drians where the cause. You see the drain hole is close to the waterline in rough sea water backs up under the engine cover and spills over the lip dumping salt water right on the coil shorting it out.

Fix was to install rubber flaps on the overboard drain when water tries to come back up the tube the rubber flap sets and closes the drain. No problem now baot has 3 years with the fix and has not stalled out even in Buzzards Bay rough water.
