The anchor light pole on my 265 was stolen last summer :(
I found a close replacement that fit in the standard perko/attwood socket but it did not allow me to lock it into the socket like the factory one did, and it was straight and not bent like the factory one was. The socket leans inward towards the cockpit so with my canvas up it would hit the supports and almost take it to the breaking point. Needless to say it worked for 2 weekends until it fell out!

I was trying to think of a better replacement because we spend 2-3 nights per week night cruising or anchored out in the cove. I noticed on the newer 270's the light is mounted to the bimni frame and i am pretty sure that it folds down. I have been able to find a 4 inch non folding type that would do the job but it would interfere with the bimni boot when the top is folded up.

Launching within the next week or 2 so i need to come up with something pretty quick!!!

Any ideas????

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

P.S. First person to come up with an idea that works can spend a free weekend in the basement tiki bar with free drinks(would have to be over the winter because I will be at the lake every weekend for the rest of the summer) Or if you live close, all you can stomach jello shots at Houseboat Cove Clinton Lake!!

You could try a rail mount ing the light. Get a folding (VHF antenna type) clamp and put the non-folding 4 inch in it, then clamp to your bimini and run cable. Just a thought...

You may also want to try Special Orders at BOAT US/West.  I recall the attwood/perko catalogs had at least two pages of stern anchor light poles we didn't carry in the store.  I would think Rinker would have th original part #.

If you can find a light to fit have the boot cut and sewn to fit around it .

You might have to replace the reciever housing  but if you find 1 to fit & is at the wrong angle you might be able to bend it on an electrical  conduit bender

I was thinking something along the same lines as you mentioned. As launch gets closer and time dwindles I just need a quick fix that will be reliable. Don't want to waste time on the water!! This time next week I should be cruising Clinton Lake!!!!!

I'm enjoying a cocktail on the back of the boat right now  . It's a little chilly today and probably too windy to leave the slip, but a cocktail on the boat always tastes better than a cocktail anyplace else!

Talon- The weather around here was about the same, pretty cold and very windy. We were supposed to take a friends brand new 300 cruiser out but with the wind he decided not to go out. Next weekend will hopefully be a different story!!!

Who is going with the new boat Cory?  Are they regular's at Clinton as well.  So you are going out next week huh..I am on vacation the first week in April and I am hoping to get out a few times before we go on the Loop Cruise in Chicago...

Whatever Talon, I was sitting in my garage enjoying a cold beer.  And on top of that the beer was sitting in the case next to the fridge.  Are you sure you don't want some wine with that cheese

I am jealous and glad that we can live vicariously through others...

Dr Greg from Champaign Bought the new 300, he was with us every weekend last year. He had the black 262 bowrider and always wore a straw cowboy hat. As far as i know he went to the lake every day in the summer and trailered the boat from champaign. On the weekends he would either sleep on his own boat out in the open if it was nice or crash with one of us with cruisers. He now has a slip on dock 4 with the houseboats.

Hope to get the boat ready tomorrow and launch saturday. My slip is ready, if you are off the whole week we have extra slips and you are always welcome to crash on my boat!!! Hope to see ya next weekend. Weather should be decent, if not i will zip in the canvas and run the heater!!!

P.S. Jim Gibbs has an extra slip on dock 4 that he lets his customers use if nobody else is there!! That can come in handy sometimes!!

I actually ended up going out yesterday. We went to a nice litte cove that was sheltered and had a great afternoon. Today is not looking so good. It's already blowing 20-25...probably not worth the hassle. It was challenging enough yesterday trying to get back into the slip :-(

Yeah especially with the canvasses up  it's like trying to carry a sheet of plywood in the wind

I did end up making it out today. We were out for 5 or six hours rafted with some friends. And it was even tougher getting in the slip today. I was picking up gusts to 20 knots.

To Captains Call: I lost mine as well but I check with Rinker and they have new ones for sale. They cost around USD80. As I had to add postage to Malta, I decided not to buy and instead I bought a portable one which can be connected to a cigarette lighter - fo a fraction of the cost.

This is a picture of it:

This is the decription of the one I bought:

Anchor light with a 15 ft cord and a cigarette plug. This waterproof light draws only 0.1A at 12volts. It comes with a light sensor switch. Light on a dusk off at dawn. (no switch needed). The 0.1A bulb has 2nm visibility. Unit comes with 2 extra bulbs. To suspend light just tie a line to the triangular bracket included. This light provides light for chart reading, working, entertainment or as a courtesy light. If you choose to mount the light permanently a fuse holder is supplied.
