First boat ever bought 3 weeks ago and am looking for best cleaner/conditioner for vinyl seats. I've read about 303 or areospace 303 and was wondering if this is sold in stores or is it just sold on-line. Any other recommendations you might have about the seats would be appreciated. Looking forward to Spring 2009!

303 is a protectant. Are you looking for a cleaner? I use Krazy Clean to clean my vinyl and follow that with the 303 protectant.

303 is definitely a great protectant to use. I generally buy it online at boatfix.com but I know you can get it at boating stores also. If you go to their website it will probably list a few local places you can pick it up.

You can get 303 protectant at West Marine as well. Mr. Clean Erasers are great for scuffs / stains. Other than that, just wash them down with soap and water...

FYI:
If you have a truck accessories shop close to you, you can usually find 303 few bucks cheaper than marine stores. These are places that just sell accessories for trucks. In particular, tonneau bed covers which are made of vinyl. These shops sell 303 for protection for vinyl tonneau bed covers. I find it a few bucks cheaper than West Marine!

I used 3M Marine Vinyl Cleaner and Restorer in the the spray bottle. It works really well and leaves a lemon scent. I never saw this product before and thought I would give it a shot. I would definitely buy it again. Hope this helps, Cheers, Ron  |

Thanks for all the replies! I am looking for a protectant as the seats are pretty clean already. I'm glad I went to the link posted as it said not to use Simple Green. I had bought some since I had seen it recommended on other sites. I did use it back by the transom (diluted) to clean the oil from the vinyl around the engine access openings. Won't use it on the seats.

I have been using Meguiars for the last 10 yrs on our current boat and the vinyl looks and feels like it's new. I highly recommend it for maintaining all vinyl surfaces. Like everything else on a boat regular maintenance is a key to it's longevity. I take 10 minutes after each outing to wipe down all the vinyl. Quick and easy done often is a bunch better than long and hard done infrequently.
