Family and Boat made it!!

We l, It has been an interesting two days here in Springfield. For those of you that have been watching the news, our area was hit very hard with tornados on Sunday evening. I live in New Berlin which is one of the hardest hit area.
Everyone is ok. I lost my storage shed and all of my mowersns, chainsaws, and tools. All of the kids playground equipment is gone. The house suffered some damage to the roof and the facia was torn away.
For those of you that looked at the pictures of my boat in my driveway that is where it was when the tornado went through. How It stayed there, I have no idea. The only damage to the boat was some shingles scraped the bottom of the hull and it was full of water. The boat had only been home for two days.
I am in the process of squaring stuff up with insurance and locating a storage facility for the boat. I wll be sure to post some pictures of the damage once I am able.

Glad you and your family are OK - that's the most important thing. Everything else can be repaired / replaced. Hopefully the damage to the boat won't keep you off the water for any length of time.

Boatsrule: We were all home when it hit. It is true what they say it sounds like a freight train coming through your house. The whole house was creaking and you could here stuff hitting the house.
I am already getting the garage doors replaced Thursday and the adjutors will be here later in the week.
Talon: The boat only had a few very small scratches at the base of the hull. I think the boat was meant to be mine as everything around it was damaged. I am actually hooking up the boat in ten minutes and taking it to a storage facilty that I found today.
The kids and family are all good which as everyone said that is what is imporant and everything else can be replaced.

Captains Call sent me a private message and him and his family are doing well. I think he had minor damage to his home like the rest of the people in this area.
Things are coming together well. Insurance adjustors were here today and I should have my check in two days. Garage doors replaced on Thursday and roof and facia fixed either Friday or early next week.
Will keep everyone posted...I will post some pics here in little while..

I am still here!!! I was able to get online Monday am around 5 when the power came back on long enough to pm 4lakebums then the cable went down. When i came back home last night the power was off again. It's been crazy!!
House is missing quite a few shingles. Sat dish is missing. Garage flashing is gone. Other than that all is well.
Boat survived nothing wrong
My office is right behind the Target and Walmart thst has been on the national news. It is one of the 2 buildings left standing on the street. The only dmg to the office is the roof and water damage inside. I have no idea how it made it. I'll try and take some pics next time I go to the office. It may be a while we have moved all of our staff into a hotel about 1/2 hour south so we can at least have power.

Since i have my digital from work here are some of my house.
Here is what's left of the sat dish that was mounted on the roof
Here is the debris pile for some reason it all collected here. Notice the cooler that was full of beer
I guess building the bar in the basement was a really good idea. All the neighbors that did not have a basement came down to ours and we sat and drank beer and Captain while the tornado passed over!!

We lucked out over here in Mahomet. The edge of the storm cleared us by a couple of miles. You could look out and see the 'weather' slightly to the west of us. We sit in kind of a low spot anyway by Lake of the Woods and to date have never had anything bad other than strong straight line winds within several miles of us. I have not heard from the owner of the farm where our boats are stored...I'd presume if things are not OK up there he'd have contacted us. I might have to take a little drive just to see if all is OK
The previous weekend, my wife was in Spfld for the weekend at the state women's bowling tourney...staying at the Courtyard Marriott that she says is right across the street from what used to be the Walmart. Lucky she did not bowl last weekend.
Glad everyone is OK and insurance is taking care of everything.
