I have a 2000 272 Rinker Captiva and left the master switch on, and both batteries were dead. I got the hatch open ans was able to charge the batteries at the cost of missing a day on the water. Does any one know of an easier way to get the hatch open when both batteries are dead?

If the hatch is electric like a 270 is when you open the battery switch door there are 2 lugs (bolts) one on each side of the switch. Hook a jump box to the lugs (or jumper from a battery) when you hook the jumper up one on each side the hatch will open if not reverse the cables, in other words the switch has a up & down depending on which side the positive cable is on. There is also an inspection plate under the carpet in the center of the hatch when removed you can pull the pin from the rod & mauual pick it up.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
