we got our 03 342 this spring. Everything was fine for a couple weeks then the starboard engine was low on anti freeze. Added a half gallon to the purge tank and was good for the weekend. The next week it was low again. this went on for a few weeks then I decided the heat exchanger must have gone bad. A couple of weeks later the port engine did the same thing. I never did add any anti freeze to either engine after this thinking that raw water was just taking it's place and I would deal with it this fall. When I went to drain the water heater this fall (the warming side from the starboard engine) there was still anti freeze in the water.

Has anyone had this problem? Are my heat exchangers bad? Can you rebuild them or do they have to be replaced? We are not in salt water do we need to work on them at all? Beings we are in fresh water what do I have to do to winterize the blocks to keep them from freezing.

Just a guess, but I would say you are trying to keep them too full.

Try leaving them at the low level and just keep a close eye on the level. If it doesn't go down any more then I would say they are too full and belching the excess out.
Keep us posted and good luck.
