Is the river too high right now or is it possible to still get on the water here?

I don't know yet about the river.  Some of us are getting together down there for the Cornfest then looking to do our Fall Cruise the first weekend in Oct.  River conditions will dictate.  I was out at Hammond Marina this morning to take my dog for a walk on the beach.  Lake Michigan was flat as glass.  I might splash early am tomorrow with a cooler full of coldies and a tv for the Bear game.  Just hang out on the hook all day.

Thanks!!

We are going to head to either Clinton or Shelbyville depending on how the weather looks down there. Last ditch effort would be Lake Geneva. Supposed to be 40 pct change of scattered t-storms but it seems like it says that every time i go down that way.

We ended up going down to Clinton. I almost blew a trailer tire on the way. There was a section of the tread that looks like it just shifted about 2 inches. I dont think it started to get really bad until we were almost there so we launched the boat first and changed it so it would be easier. I will be calling someone in the next few days because you wouldnt think a tire would go bad with probably only 1000 or so miles on it.

All in all it ended up being a fairly nice day out plus the power plant keeps the water temperature warmer than the air temperature. The warmest we were all day was when we were anchored up and swimming.

A bunch of us hitting the River near Morris on Oct 4-5.  Our annual Fall Cruise.  Not too much of a cruise anymore with fuel prices being what they are.  Dropping in Sat and meeting up at Goose Poop (Johnson's) Island.  What we do from there is up for grabs.  Might just drink, BBQ, drink, start a fire, drink, overnight, drink some more.  excited
