I have a 1996 14" Rinker Rocket. I had a short over the weekend and had a major wiring melt down from the engine compartment all the way to the dashboard. I am in need of a wiring schematic for this boat. Can anyone help or lead me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Ping

I'd try Rinker direct first.  I'm surprised you didn't have an all out fire with that much wiring burt.

Ping -

Can't help you with the schematic for your boat but I will say you need to find the source of the melt down before you fix it or it will just happen again! Sure sounds like something went wrong as the protected fuses did not blow before the melt down happened! Sounds to me like there was a short up in the dash some where!

Call Rinker explain what happened and I am sure they will be able to help with a schematic - employ some liability issues as to why the fuse did not blow! They may be more willing to help! Fire afloat is a major concern!

Hey Ping -

How are you making out with your wires? I have sent Talon the AYBC Electrical Standard and it is posted in the Library! This manual is not Rinker specific but it is the standard that your boat was wire too! You will find the wiring color codes and how things should be wired as not to have a melt down again!

Hope this helps -
