I just found this site today. I am on my second Rinker. Bought new 232 in 1988 and 282 in 2003. Love the boats and the 282 design is perfect for our use. We boat on Kentucky Lake.

Our boat is red and I have significant oxidation on my 5 year old 282. So much so that I will have to sand and buff or paint my pink boat. I have always used Collinite boat wax for protection and have never had this kind of oxidation problem before. Has anyone else had a problem with your red Rinker?

Also, I have 2 gelcoat cracks on the transom, which I notified Rinker 3 weeks ago (5 yr warranty not quite up). I was informed the warranty only covers cracks all the way thru the hull and they would get back to me to let me know if they can help. Haven't heard anything yet (3+wks). Any one else had cracking problems or experience with Rinker customer service?

Thanks

Get your boat surveyed to determine if the cracks are being caused by a manufacturing problem. My brother's Chaparral had cracks on his stern that couldn't be explained. He had it surveyed and found hollow spots in the hull core where fibrglass is supposed to be it's thickest. Even if he just fixed the surface cracks they will reappear. Chaparral paid half the cost and his warranty wasn't up either. It's that special word they refer to called "Limited" warranty. My experiences with Rinker customer service have been disappointing. I've been waiting for replacement parts (compass and dash bezel) for my new boat since last May. I put numerous calls into Randy Rinker without so much as a returned call. I hope you have better luck than I did..!
Cheers,
Ron

Thanks.  I have calls in to Randy which have not been returned either.  Customer service has been poor and it may force me to look harder the next time I replace my boat.
