Have a  84 V205 cuddy with dual batteries. Boat when purchased used had  battery (type 24) on either side of engine enclosed behind seat backs in transom. Neither was secured or in a battery case. Went to install battery cases and there is no room for a battery case on either side. Can someone tell me where and how the batteries were placed from factory?

Battery cases are no longer required.  If you can mount battery trays and then cover the posts with battery post covers you should be alright.  That should save you some room.
