I notice quite a few people around here have the 232 bowrider boat. I had a couple questions for you guys if you don't mind that is!

Whats in front of the co-pilot seat? Is there a little porta-potti in there? I can't find a good picture with that door open looking into that compartment. You can see the compartment below with door open, but I have no idea whats in there.

Did they make a camper canvas for this boat? If so anyone have one and can tell me how well it works/doesn't work? I know one of you guys has put a tower on your 232. Any idea if it will fit/work with the above mentioned canvas?

Thanks in advance!

Mine is a 2004 and this one pictures looks a little newer. Yes that is a porta pottie, TP roll holder, Magazine pocket, light, carbon monoxide detector, and the table storage in that compartment.

The tower I installed fits over the stock bimini (atleast it does for mine). The only minor annoyance is one of the legs has be momentarily disconnected to get it to dip below the tower speakers when the top is deployed or retracted.

My factory bimini has zips on all 4 sides presumably for the camper top (that I dont have).  I have considered having sides made to it, but my last boat had a camper top and we never used it, so its low on the wish list.

Beware this may not be true for all boats. Friend of mine bought a rinker like mine at a very crappy dealer (Bryce marine) and it did not have same top.  Apparently, they order the boats with out canvas, had it made locally very cheaply, and charge OEM price for it.  Same with the trailer.  [-X

Wow, ton of good answers there. Thanks!

How hard is it to get into the Porta-Potti area? Any chance you have been able to compare your accessibility with that of the new 246's? I like the idea that the 232 doesn't have to have the copilot move to get into that compartment.

I think I could deal with having to remove one pole to get the top up/down, as we typically deploy it in the mid afternoon, and then leave it up until we get the boat back on land and start the tie-down process.

sorry, I cant compare it to the 246.  I never thought about the co-pilot interference issue (probably since its my co-pilot that is the primary user).  It is a tight fit and really only practical for women and children.  Im 5'10 190lb and it would be a squeeze.

I usually put up the bimini out friday and take it down sunday.  The cockpit cover fits around it when retracted or deployed.

I have a 2004 232 BR and love it.  We would like to add a tower but are concerned about it cracking the fiberglass.  Where is the best place to get one?  My dealer wasn't too excited about adding one.

Hey 2kwik,

I have a good friend who has a model year 2000 Rinker 232.  It has the 5.7L MPI with Bravo 3 and Corsa exhaust.  We boat in the Cincinnati area on the Ohio river as well as a couple of local lakes.  I'm sure I could arrange a day of boating if you'd like to put her through her paces.  I can tell you that I have wakeboarded behind this boat and it pulls you right up.  Also I'm about 5'10" tall and 230 pounds, so I'm no light and fit runway model.  Let me know if you're interested, he has 2 sons who are both at college and playing football and he never misses a game, so his schedule is a little hectic, but I'm sure we could work something out if you want.

No cracking on mine in 4 years.

I got mine from the out of town Rinker dealer (RC Congel) .  The local dealer (bryce marine) wanted an outrageous amount for it.  I had them order it / ship it with some new Rinker boats so I would not have to pay shipping. I think it was just south of $2k with the speakers and board racks. I think the dealer quoted me $800 for install.

I picked it up with the empty boat trailer and strapped it down no problem.  Installation was not really too bad if you are at all mechanically minded.  The toughest part is the bathroom walls have to come out to get at the port front connection.

Actually,  I would be surprised if you can still get this rack from the factory since they dont make the hull anymore, but good luck.

Sure, set us up. I'm open pretty much any weekend between now and the end of the season. I'd love to have the opportunity to walk around on one and kind of look at this that or the other thing. If there's a good place to wakeboard/wakeskate around I wouldn't mind trying that out behind his boat either if he doesn't mind pulling me. I'll gladly toss a few bucks his way to cover his gas as well.

The GF and I could drag our little 182 up there as well, make a day out of it!

I'll talk to him and see what his schedule looks like.  I think you'll be suprised with the holeshot on his boat.  It is night and day difference with wakeboarding.
