swim platform addition
«
on:

Over the winter I added a swim platform to our '99 FV270. To gain some storage space I also added a door to the transom. By adding a "floor" to the space betweenn the actual transom and the seat back we gained space to hold fenders, dock lines and a lunch anchor. My apologies if these don't post correctly.

Very nice! I want an extended swim platform as well, but my current boat is for sale, then hoping to get all the goodies with the next one.

Looks great. Seems the wood platforms are becoming more and more rare!
An ESP is next on our list of "big" purchases for our little 182. We're still debating on if we want to make a wood one from teak, or just pony up the cashola for a custom fiberglass unit.

I actually looked at teak but it was just too expensive ----particullarly when part of the challange was to see if I could actually build the thing. I did not want to scrap several hundred dollars of teak if I screwed up. This one is mahogany and maple. Cost for material was under $500 and about 20-25 hours to build and finish. Like so many projects the second one would be easier and cheaper.

I have been thinking about opening up a port behind the seat backs in the front of my 192. Do you have photos of the job you did there?
