Welcome to the forum ELZHD. I have a 05 232 R2 edition with the extended swim platform. Not sure what issues you are referring too. The only problem I had was the non slip surface was too slippery. I had mine redone by a fiberglass guy. Much better know. Other than that no problems at all. Over 110 hrs on boat last summer

For the most part here it has been the not so great non skid! However there is a thread going on in the BoatUS forum in regard to the swim platform. Seems it is to low in the water and has caused many factures in the fiberglass. Go to that site for a look see there are pictures. Here is the address:

If you are looking for a particular subject try our search engine it will search off a keyword and give you every post that has that word in it.

Yeah that guy's boat is beat up. My guess is that is was abused by the previous owners or is just a lemon. That boat has been featured on several forums and it does look bad. I haven't heard of anyone else having problems though. Anybody?

I think the big thing that we all agree on is that the nonskid on all Rinkers could be improved. It's not quite 'non-skiddy' enough. You get used to it though.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Maybe if you smack it off the dock repeatedly :-) Just watch your step back there, especially when it's wet.

lol - there are a lot of you guys getting anxious to put the new rides in the water. Think of it this way, you are not the only one - at least half the board is trying to convince their spouse that they care more about the admirals than the boat

Sounds like you may need to buy her some flowers.

...and by 'her' I mean the admiral - not the boat 8)

The guy on Boatus is the only one I've ever heard of having problems with a 232. My boat has been great. What engine and drive did you get? I completely understand being anxious to get her on the water. I get they way every year around this time. Actually the Admiral is just as anxious as I am. So tell us all about your boat it helps relieve the pain. Kind of like boaters therapy

Well its my first boat 350 mag with bravo three blue with blue trailer(to match tow rig). Got a great price from my dealer bc of all the 2006 he was getting in and wanted the 05s out. Might go this week and get it out on the water and learn the boat a little.

Elzhd,

I just purchased an '04 232 Cuddy and had the same concerns.  As has been mentioned, I've really only seen the one person with "major" problems.  Everything else I've heard or read about the 232 is that it is a solid rig.
