Bildge pump and impeller change on 2006 280 bowrider

Ok, I'm stumped.. I am working on my friends rinker 280 captiva. How the heck do you get at the bildge pump and impeller of a 2006 captiva 28'. It looks like they installed the engine then the top portion of the boat when they built it. There is no way I can get at the bildge which is under the volvo 8.1 375 penta. Also there is no room to get to the impeller to change it. any ideas?
Thanks

If the bilge pump is the Mayfair brand then motor with impeller is most likely a replacement cartridge. It , pretty much, just twists out of the yellow housing and a new one twists in. You still need to splice wires but the new catridge has a length of wire with it. Sounds simple getting to the pump location may still be an issue. On my 212 if I remove the storage tubes on either side of my motor I can climb into the engine compartment and reach under the motor to the pump. I feel the bildge pump is mounted too far forward and leaves too much water further back. My remedy was to install a second pump as far back in the bildge as possible. On my 212 just in front of the bildge plug is a small area that is molded and slightly lower than the rest of the bottom, I set the pump there. It just sits there and is not secured. In two seasons it has not moved. In case my second pump fails as the water rises the original pump will eventualy kick on. I also added a separate thru hull for the second pump.
Hope this helps.

Thanks . I have a RULE 1100 bildge. I know this because I used an extension mirror to locate it.. I'm telling you, this is the worst design I have ever seen. There is no way even a little person could even get his leg in the engine compartment.. Big delima.
