Looking to see if anyone else has a 2002/2003 342 that the countertop with the sink and range that were put in at an angle.  Mine is easliy 1-1.5" off square to the head wall and the front berth.  That and everything liquid runs aft too.  Looks like a big job to rip out and redo but it is a pain the way it is.

Thanks!

We have a 2002 342 and our counter is straight across, there is no angle to it. I also read your earlier post about the battery placement and ours was the same way and after 10 minutes of cussing, my husband asked for a knife, and cut the battery box, too. We have just recently purchased our 342 and are looking at ways to make it look "newer", such as the stainless drink holders and a teak floor. Have you done anything like that? We are also struggling with the TV situation, the boat came with a TV/VCR that was junk, so we took it out and replaced it with the TV from 270, but it's too small! So we've been toying with the idea of putting a flat screen on a door, covering the TV cubby, with a hinge of course so it would be storage. So many ideas, so little time!  8)

congrats on the 342!  I'm always tinkering with mine.  I did replace the snap in carpet as the original stuff was rotting on the backing.  I like the idea of the teak flooring, somewhere I just saw an ad for that stuff.  I have carpet covers of Sunbrella on all my interior carpet.

The TV is my next project.  I'd like a flat screen with a built in DVD.  I thought of mounting it on the outside, forward face of the cabinet.  that way I have more storage, and can swivel the TV around if you get the wall mount kit.  I'd be curious to see what you do with this too.

if you check out the pictures section, I put in new tachs and fuel flow monitors too.

Thanks!

How difficult was the install on the fuel flow monitors?  I saw the pics....looks great.

I had it done, but it's really not hard to put in the flow meter and run the wires to the new gauge.  A bit of time and I'd say of you are handy working on your boat, you could do it.  You can get all the install manuals on line to look before you buy.
