Water System Pump

I have a 2000 Rinker Fiesta Vee 270. The water in the faucet in the sink and shower comes only if the hose is attached to the water supply in the back of the boat, it does not come even with full tank otherwise. When I press the galley pump switch, nothing happens. I assume that the water pump is bad. My question is where is the pump? Is it in the area behind the steps on the wall or on the bottom in a box? What GPM pump to buy? How difficult is it to replace it? The round knobs below the steering wheel are for what? I am new to boating and the Rinker manual does not help much. Thank you.

I got the same boat. Your water pump is located on the port side of the front wall of the engine compartment. Water tank is in the engine compartment along the port wall. Locate the small line down at the bottom front of the tank, follow it to the pump. It might just be a fuse that is out. Try disconnecting the wiring near the pump and run some wires from a known good battery to check it. Be sure to have a faucet open when doing this as the pump will have a pressure switch in it.

I had a 2003 and the fresh water pump was in the engine compartment. If not you can follow the line from the fresh water tank to the pump. I had to prime the pump on several occasions to get it to work. It normally needed it after the tank was out of water.

I thought I had a bad fresh water pump but it does make noise when connected to the battery outside of the boat. I checked the other ends of butt connectors with voltage meter, which connect to the wires on the pump, no current on them. I tried to trace the wires but they are in a coiled housing going to the back wall of the engine compartment, I can not figure out where do they go from there. Someone said the pressure switch may be a problem. Is the switch at the helm which says galley pump, how do I get to it? How do I trace the wires further from back wall of the engine compartment? The wiring diagram in the manual is not very helpful. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

The galley pump switch at the dash only turns the pump on and off. The pressure switch is located internally on the pump. When all faucets are off, the pump will run until it builds enough pressure in the plumbing system to activate the pressure switch. At this point the pump then shuts off. When you open a faucet the pressure will drop and the pressure switch will turn the pump back on as long as the galley pump switch is still in the on position. I'll take some pics of my boat tomorrow to show you the water pump's location. Maybe that will help you out.

Here is the update. The rocker switch for galley pump at the helm does not work. I bypassed it and pump works fine. One of my neighbor boater had a meter to test the switch it was showing the current passing through it. He thinks despite that the switch needs to be replaced. It is McGill DPDT part number 0852-0125. I can't find it online, anyone has purchased this type of switch in the past, if so from where?
Thank you again.
