I just went over all the vinyl in my boat with a "Magic Eraser" from Mr Clean. Cleaned it better than anything else I've ever used to clean vinyl.

For the gelcoat I used a regular claybar from the parts store, and that cleaned it up pretty good, then a good coat or two of marine wax.

I need to find a way to shampoo the carpets since mine don't snap out. Was debating on pulling the seats out, and the engine cowl off to get a regular home-use carpet shampooer in there.

And how would one if one was to use a clay bar? Whats the difference between marine wax and auto wax?

Main difference that I can tell between a marine wax and an auto wax is the printing on the label. Aside from that I can't tell the difference, I buy the marine stuff because it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Roll-Off does a nice job of cleaning fiberglass.. for the black streaks, etc.
Otherwise I use a cleaner-wax, I like that because it also makes it nice and shiny!

Softscrub works well on my non-skid swim platform.

Who'd have thunk.   While I use these things all over the house, I'd have never thought to use it on the seats and cushions.  WOW...although after use the white is just a little 'duller' than 'new', I'd suspect that now I'll use a commercial cleaner/restorer for that to bring them really back to looking good.

As far as the outside parts, I was disappointed to find that local stores ceased to carry the 3M fiberglass cleaner and restorer.  In my boating times, I've gone through two or three bottles of this stuff and it works really good.  But after trips to all of the logical places that would have this, I ended up getting the Meguires marine 'oxidation remover' and 'high gloss' polish.  While it did take a couple of trips down the side that faced the sun all winter to make the blue really back to original, the combination of those two products worked pretty darn good.

woody wax is great on the SS rails and cleats.  I like their boat soap too. http://www.woody-wax.com   I use it at home on my SS sinks too, prevents water spotting.
