I would like to organize a trip for Rinker owners in South FL interested in cruising to the Dry Tortugas. I made an attempt at the trip in April, but it was a hair too windy. I did however make it to the Marquesas which were beautiful. Summer is the time to do this people !!!

Let's get 3 or 4 Rinkers together and do a weekend in Key West.

Great place to camp, with ramp and mooring ...cheap...

I'm interested.  I pick up my new 2008 246 cuddy on Friday.  I need a little time to get used to the boat and then I'd be down for the trip.  We live in Venice on the southwest coast.  I was also thinking about taking the boat to Key West from Venice, or maybe trailer it down to Marco and launch from there.  I assume you tralered to Key West and put the boat in there?

Yes, I trailered to Key West and stayed at Boyd's Campground(shameless plug). If you're into camping, the place is awesome, and cheap. How do you like the 246 so far ? Hope you're having fun with it !! Let me know about a trip this summer !!

Pictures look awesome. I cant make a trip like that this year but would be all for planning one for next summer.
Also, if you have any other trips in mind, always looking for new places to go.
I am up in Palm Coast, near St Augustine.  My email is captiva262@hotmail.com

I read in another of your postings that  you have a camper setup for your boat.  Could I get more details about it?  Especially where you got it?  We have been talking about the same thing and would be interested in your experiences.

Another question:  I bought my boat used (2002) and the previous owner had taken out the support rods on the engine cover/sun deck.  I need to replace them or start working out more...that thing is heavy!

West Marine sells them, but they sell them by weight....any idea how much the cover weighs?

The trip to Ft Jefferson sounds like fun...currently I have my boat in a dry stack but would like to move to a trailer eventually if I can find a good place to store it.  If so, going to the Keys would be high on the list.
