New Boat Owner

I just purchased a 1989 V230 Cuddy Cabin. It was totally restored in 2004. I'm open to any tips on using this boat on Lake Norman. I just purchased a new Lake Maps chip for Lake Norman. I know there are many shallows and presume they are all marked. We intend to enjoy the boat for relaxing, tubing, fishing, and possibly skiing. Thanks to anyone that responds in advance. Have a great and safe time on the Lake.

One word of note - don't assume anything about LKN - it can sneak up on you in a hurry - with the water up - it's a lot better - if you have access to a jet ski - go exploring on it...
With the channel markers as they are - a very good lake to hone the skills on - just watch the coves.

Welcome! Learn to stay between the markers and you will generally be fine. Never cut one of the corners, even if you seen other boats doing it - they only get away with it so many times.

Also - if you ever make it over to the PYC, look me up. I'm on the endcap of B dock (all the way into the cove).
