"The screen project"

For those of you that may be interested. This is how I did the screen for the companion way. I had a screen made and tucked the excess behind the edge molding and put in some screws. Rolls out of the way and snaps up. Comes in handy when you don't need the AC. Cost about $40 dollars.

Another great solution to a problem I didn't know I had! I am having the canvas redone on our '99 270 and I will just add it to the work.
Thanks

Do you happen to recall where you found the hook(s) on the wall next to the lovely screen door? Very nice!

Wow - Great job (again). I need to do something similar to ours. When we were looking at boats, the one thing we liked about the Rinker 300 was the screen companioway. The 320 didn't have it... but now it will!

I was told by a dealer that all Rinker cruisers will have the sliding screen in time. I really like that feature. The brass swivel hooks came from West Marine.

We were told the same. Didn't even think to look at the '06 320, so they may already have one.

Craig,
Nice job!
Based on all of the other alterations you've completed, I think you have the most improved Rinker on the forum!
If you're cruising the Eastern Shore this summer (Sassafras, Still Pond, Fairlee), we should get together. I would love to see your boat!
Phil

Very nice. After our first year that was something we wished for. We too are getting canvas work done and will talk to our guy. Is it ok to show your pictures to him?
Thanks

Phil,
We get over to Fairlee a few times a year. Maybe we can get together sometime.
I have also seen screens that have snaps that go around the door frame that look pretty good. I chose the zipper so it would always be up and ready.
Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Your screen came out great! Are you for hire, I am sure you could drum up a lot of installs, just tell everyone you only install in the off - season. I was just thinking about how to install a screen on the boat (2001 - 310) that I am hopefully closing a deal on over some green beer this weekend, and seeing what you have done here, this would be perfect.
