i am in the process of buying and was hoping that someone might be able to tell me where i can find an archives site.  i am looking at getting a starter boat and putting a little work into it, but i can't seem to find specs on a 1988, 16 or 17 ft rinker open bow (130 Merc. I/O).  if anyone knows where i can find such a thing, pics, anything helpful, please let me know.  thanks to all insight... - chris.

Chris,

Welcome to the site!

I'm not aware of where you can find specific spec archives by model.  My first recommendation would be to visit http://www.boattraderonline.com and click on "search".  There are over 100,000 boats listed.  You can enter in the year range and length range and type "Rinker" into the "Manufacturer" field.  You'll get some specs and even some pictures.  I just tried a search for 1987-1990, up to 20 feet and there are 10 boats listed.

I searched this site for 4 years looking for the right deal on a 232 and finally pulled the trigger last fall.

This might seem obvious but how about sending Rinker a email with the serial nimber of the boat and engine and see what turns up. You might try this address: rinkerparts@rinkerboats.com.

Just a thought!

When searching...look for something with a model number like V-170 (for the 17 foot model).  I had a V-180 (1990 circa) prior to trading on my 212.
