  We were not happy with the mattress on the 270, woke up with sore back & neck a few times. Just bought 1 1/2 inch memory foam (king size) mattress pad from Target. On sale for $71, fits well with a  bit trimming on one side only. Works great, no sore back this morning!!

Not a bad idea. The mattresses on ours don't bother me, but the girlfriend complains. I'm guessing just a pair of scissors will take care of trimming to fit?

I'm not sure if anyone prefers sleeping in the aft cabin vs. the v-berth, but I've seen a 26' Rinker with an inflatable air mattress that fit perfectly in the aft cabin.  I'm sure the 27' has a pretty roomy aft cabin.  I know the 26' has one, not a lot of head room, but the mattress area is surprisingly big.
