OK, I know we have an intro section for people to introduce themselves to the group, but let's get to know each other a bit better  No kids, but our dogs, Lady and Luke are avid boaters. They are one of the main reasons we upgraded to the Rinker - needed a genset to keep the cool during the summer. They are too old to go without AC during August :-)
Here I am at our boat christening party. I'm the one on the left.

Hello. I haven't intorduced myself yet. My name is Nathan. I'm an engineer. I am married to Melissa for 3 years now. One son, twin daughters on the way (should be here any day). One dog, English Mastiff named Molly. Don't currently have a boat but am planning on getting one as soon as I can afford it. I know it'll be a Rinker though 8)

Welcome aboard and congratulations! Make sure and let us know when the big day arrives. The babies (plural? :P
When you do get a Rinker, at least you won't have to go far to get parts
. Any thoughts on which model?

My name is Dave. My wife Stacy and I have a son, Colby, who is less than a year old. We have 2 Siberian Huskies, Kota and Kasha and live in Brandon, SD (which is basically a suburb of Sioux Falls) on the east bank of the Big Sioux River. Hence the user ID.
In addition to being an avid boater since childhood, I've also been a private pilot for 20 years so not all of my propellers are used under water. You'll probably catch me using aviation metaphors once in a while.
My hobbies are funded by my employment at a very large global bank in the credit card division. Our group facilitates the development and testing of computer applications used by customer interface personnel. I've also started a small business out of my home specializing in organic lawn care/soil improvement featuring liquid lawn aeration instead of mechanical.
I've been either a Glastron or Larson owner since 1979 and have a friend who works at Larson in marketing, however neither of them currently build cuddies. We really wanted a cuddy now that we are starting a family so we just purchased our first Rinker in November and are looking forward (dying is more like it) to getting it out on the water.

Russ,
I'm not too sure if it'll be an R2 which is the 246 with the tower package or a 270 (or whatever is comparable to it in the future

My name is Phil. Married to my wonderful wife Vicki for 11 years. We have two children, Connor (5) and Morgan (18 months). Both kids have been boating since they were 2 months old.
We live near Lancaster, PA. Our boat is an hour drive south on the Upper Chesapeake Bay. I grew up on my Father's boats on the Chesapeake, so it is truly "home" to me.
My wife and I both work in Education. I am a counselor at a local High School and she is Faculty at the University of Delaware. We both have summers off! I know, please don't hate us! :P
Our other hobby is traveling. We especially enjoy Bermuda, Bahamas, USVI & BVI.
Phil

Souns more like a lonely hearts club than a boating forum, oh well here goes!
Hi all my name is Mike –
I am 57 and retired when I was 48, never married. I was one of the lucky ones and made a living as a Senior Research Engineer in the computer industry I hold a MSEE and a BSBA. When I am not boating I am either flying (Private Instrument multi engine) or raising Arabian Horses. I own a 50 acre farm on Cape Cod with 30 horses that I breed and show. Boating and Fishing is my favorite past time. I hold a Master 100 ton captain license with towing and salvage certificates. However I boat for pleasure, it is that I was bored one year and took the courses at MMA, which is just down the street. I love to talk to other boaters and promote safe boating! I do a little teaching, boating of course. I love to hunt with my German Shorthair and shoot in a pistol league during the off season. I am not one to travel since I travel most of my life being a son of a career military officer. By my 12th birthday I had been in most countries and around the world three times. Interesting life but hard as a kid! Never in one place very long, always on the move! Well that about covers it!

My name is Mike I am 58 years old and the District General Manager with TYCO Fire and Security, SimplexGrinnell. I handle the Central Ohio District.
I have been Married to the Admiral for 38 years. We have two children one 34 and the other 36. I have one grand child who is 6 going on 21 and one in the mold. We have lived in Northern Ohio, North West Pa and Massachuettes. I was a Region Manager with the same company and traveled about 40 weeks a year approx 170,000 miles per year. While on one of those trips I had a heart attack in Denver. I asked the Company if they could reassign me and they did. Back to Columbus where the Admiral and I met married and our children lived for the first 13 years of their lives.
We have owned a 73 Rinkerbuilt(as it was called in the old days) 74 Rienell, 77 20' Bayliner. We were out of boating from 83-97 and hated it. Too much travel. Returned to Columbus in 97 ordered a 98 Maxum cuddy. In 1999 ordered a 25' Four Winns, 2003 a 270 Rinker, 2006 my 342 Rinker. It is time to stop buying boats and I am hoping this one will be as trouble free as all the rest. With the exception of the Four Winns.
Hobbies, Golf, Boating Forums. Passion Boating.
Played some college football at University of Findlay in Ohio as a defensive back. Was an All Ohio linebacker in High School, also played tailback. Called halfback in the old days.
I guess I am the senior citizen of this forum so I had better stop now or you might get my entire 58 years. Sorry for carrying on.

I'm Cory, wife Heather. We got married at Lake of The Ozarks last Sept. On the water of course, left the wedding on our boat!! We have a black lab named wags. He is a true boating dog, he wakes up in the morning jumps into the water on his own, swims to the shore, does his business, swims back, gets bak on the boat by himself with the help of a boogie board mounted under the ladder.
Have owned numerous boats including a rinker bowrider, champaion bass boat, my current 265 and sea doo sportser.
I am a multiline rep for a large Insurance company and get to look at damaged boats, cycles, and rv's all day. Decent job!! Gets me to the lake early most fridays!!

My name is Nancy and I am eagerly awaiting spring and the delivery of a shiny new 390 to be named HERS. My thirteen year old daughter, Sarah, is my deckhand. I have been boatless for too many years due to the deckhand's father being prone to seasickness. Now that that impediment is out of the way... (Divorce, not death.)
I am a fairly senior finance geek at a rediculously large multinational corporation. I grew up on boats on the St. Lawrence River in the 1000 Islands region. Sail, power, little boats, big boats, you name it. Now I'm looking forward to cruising Long Island Sound and the New England Coast as much as humanly possible given conflicting deckhand and business schedules.
No dog at the moment - four pampered cats (2 Maine Coons, a Persian and one best described as "round"). Can't see any of them as boat kitties. We live in Fairfield County, CT. HERS will be docked in Milford.
I hope to see some of you on the water this summer!
